Looking For

I am a seasoned songwriter, have done plenty of studio work, not to mention lots of gigging. I play acoustic rhythm and a strong blues harp and sing lead. I have recently brought in an excellent lead electric guitar player.. Additionally, I would add a good bass player--and that would form the core of the band. I would also love to have a female vocalist adding harmonies but it is not essential. Beyond that, I have a number of musical acquaintances who play a number of other instruments such as sax, flute, and violin who I would invite to sit in to color songs but they would not be part of the regular band. Covers might include artists like Waits, Browne, Dylan, Morrison, Cockburn, old blues, Ray Charles, etc.
I was a founding member of the band Sandoz here in Pittsburgh which was signed to Relix Records in NY, cut three albums, played many venues here, and opened up for a good number of well known artists. That band is now no more than a reunion band and so we play only a couple of time per year--as I have said, my new project is centered on my own material that ranges from ballads to latin rock to rock. I am most interested in gigging in places that appreciate good music-- Hambones, Club Cafe, Moondogs, Mr. Smalls, the Thunderbird, and also art and music festivals. Also, this summer I intend to cut a full album of originals here in Pittsburgh. You can go to my Reverbnation site and listen to a few tunes or
find them here on my profile at bandmix. https://www.reverbnation.com/markbrowning2 Some of them were full production, others have been recorded raw without much effects or EQ on my Zoom 16 track, but you will get the picture. First step, if you have an interest, would be to get together to run through some tunes and see our fit.
