Looking For

Singer/songwriter/composer/guitarist seeks musicians -- bass, drums, keyboards, saxophone -- to form band to play all original material (and the occasional cover). Bassists who (also) play upright and saxophonists who can double on bass clarinet would be a sought-after bonus. Players must have jazz chops and thorough knowledge of jazz, blues, rock, r&b, reggae, and funk aesthetics and song forms. Original material largely explores the area between rock and jazz -- without the vacuous elements of 'fusion' -- but also includes the aforementioned styles. Players must be committed, able to accept direction, comfortable with improvisation, and willing to rehearse regularly. Creative contribution(s) to arrangements encouraged.
